Now that LinkedIn is rolling out their video feature and you should have started to see the lucky people who have this feature early - it is time to start creating content. This can be daunting especially if you are not used to social media or being filmed, however, content comes in many mediums, it can be blogs, graphics, videos, podcasts etc.
So, how do I start?
Writing comes from passion, this means start writing what you know and would be valuable for your audience. Since my job is marketing I usually find it easiest to write around my industry and different elements of marketing. Find what interests you or what you have enough knowledge to write about.
People can dwell too much on what should I write? Will it be engaging? But, the most important pieces of advice I can give is to just start creating. Document what is going on at your company or your life - remember the journey is usually more valuable than the end results. For example, if you are introducing content into your digital strategy, document the process.
Just remember to be specific about who your audience will be and have a clear message for each piece of content. Don’t just share for the sake of posting. Remember to have a reason for your content.
Everyone has to start somewhere when starting their content marketing journey. As long as you have a clear vision of how your content fits in with your brand and the message of your brand, then you can’t go wrong.
