There are few things in life which I’d be willing to set a 4:00am alarm for. Buy concert tickets? Yes. Be first in line for a sale? Of course. Attend Europe’s number one IT event? Definitely. On 4th October, Nial Borthistle and myself jet-setted off to support Replify at the IP Expo Europe in the ExCeL, London.
Replify is a virtual software based Application Acceleration and WAN Optimization Solution designed to accelerate applications, data and file transfer bi-directionally across the WAN, increasing bandwidth throughput and reducing latency.
The IP Expo Europe is Europe's number one IT event for those looking to find out how the latest IT innovations can drive their business forward. With six events under one roof, including Cloud, Cyber Security, Networks & Infrastructure, AI, Analytics & IoT, DevOps and Open Source, the event hosted a wealth of technology knowledge.
There was an evident buzz around the introduction of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the impending effect this could have upon each company and how this would evidently change both the collection and usage of data. The Big Fat IoT Panel of the Year, which clearly gained my respect from the choice of title alone, included a contribution from Andrew Tsonchev the Director of Cyber Analysis at Darktrace, who concluded that it is not how we get this data now that is important, but how we use it in the future.
The ongoing trend at the event? Wireless headsets! An innovative way to ensure that your listeners can be captivated by your every word by blocking out surrounding noise… I wonder can we get some for our new HMC office- for professional purposes of course.
